Remembered tiles can represent almost anything: applications, documents, folders, control panels, hard disks, even the Trash. They are different from automatic tiles, which appear and disappear by themselves and which only represent open applications. Remembered tiles stay put and are always available.

Clicking a remembered tile will open its item and bring it forward. With remembered tiles, you can:

• Launch applications
• Open documents
• Open folder windows
• Open control panels
• Mount remote volumes
